Hi all, Great result for MCC with a flag in C grade, and although not successful on the weekend, I know everyone is proud of the effort from Gutters and the A grade boys this season in making the grand final in the first season back in A grade. A great launching pad to go one step further next season. Thanks also to everyone who has come down and supported all 4 grades throughout the season, and for everyone's support for the A, C, and D grades across the finals campaign. Also thanks to everyone who contributed their time and efforts - e.g. setup for the grand final breakfast, and Gaz and the boys for their efforts Saturday in hosting the D and E grade grand finals at Altone. A grade defeated by Swan View at Hartfield. MCC 94 (Brad McIntosh 28) in reply to Swan View 160 (Ranasinghe 4-43, Walker 4-47) C grade defeated Helena Valley at Coolamon. MCC 8/187 (Sam Hales 42no, Jason Meleka 29, Sean Cleverely 27, James Naughtin 21) in reply to Helena Valley 69 (Sam Hales 5/23, Graham Cater 2/27) Regards, Andrew. |
Morley CC England

Our Club is excited to announce on our new website that we have established a relationship with the Morley Cricket Club in England. The relationship has been established with the aim of player exchanges, which will surely benefit both Clubs in the future. Committee member, Paul Guthrie, will be visiting the Morley Club (UK) in June 2009, with the aim of strengthening the tie between the two clubs. This event is quite historic for Morley (Aust) as, as far as we know, it is a first for a Club in the Swan & Helena competition. Josh Walker has committed to play there this coming season and arrangements are being finalised with Morley (UK) at this moment. Any players interested in playing with Morley (UK) next season or any following should contact Paul Guthrie. You can visit the England Morley CC website Here. |

Morley CC England Further Details
Following my visit to Morley CC in England in June 2009, we have moved along considerably with our relationship with our twinned Club.
This season, the Under 14s team from Morley Cricket Club, England, will tour here with a party of 14 adults and 22 children over the period, Sunday 16th October to Sunday 30th October.
Club Coach Des Deering visited Morley in August 2011, during his umpiring tour to York , in the north of England, where he met with Tour Leader, Andy Jenkinson at an U14s training session.
The tour has made headlines in Leeds, as you will see in the following link:
http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/news/latest-news/central-leeds/leeds_cricket_club_s_australia_trip_1_3818873
Accompanying the tour party will be a 22 year old Chris Dyer, who will be playing here in Perth for the 2011/12 season, which is great boost for our Club and the relationship. Chris will become the first Morley UK player to lay with the MCC here in Perth, reciprocating Josh Walker's year in England in 2009.
The U14s playing schedule will be:
Tuesday 18/10, 9:00am-4:00pm, Belridge Senior High School, 40-50 overs/side; Wednesday 19/10, 9:00am-4:00pm, Belridge Senior High School, 40-50 overs/side; Sunday 23/10, 1:00-6:00pm, BLJCC U/14s, 35 overs/side; Wednesday 26/10, 9:30am-2:30pm, John Forrest Secondary College, 35 overs/side.
Also planned will be one or two 20/20 matches against Beechboro-LockridgeJunior Cricket Club U/14s on weeknights, between 4:00-7:00pm.
There is also a possibility that Bayswater-Morley Districts Cricket Club will host a training session for the squad.
We, at Morley in Perth, hope to host the tour party on Friday 28/10 (public holiday).
There are exciting times ahead and we hope everyone will get behind this venture.
Best wishes to all for the coming season,
Paul Guthrie.
